I WENT UP THE SYDNEY TOWER EYE!

Ever since going on The Edge in Melbourne, I think I'm not afraid of heights anymore but wasn't sure if what I thought is the same as what reality is.We were walking around The Rocks and found the tourist centre hoping they could give us some new places to visit and casually asked about the Skywalk. They said that they were having promotion where adults can do the Skywalk with child price. It was such a wonderful opportunity since it's so much cheaper than having to pay the adult price! So, Veyana and I spontaneously bought our tickets to do the Skywalk at 2pm, on the same day,

I wasn't mentally prepared, of course, but decided to do it anyways since it's a good time to prove to myself if I'm still afraid of heights or not. Pretty crazy, I know.

We were told to arrive there 30 minutes early as our tickets also include a free 4D show about Sydney. Sadly, the 4D effect was out that day, so we only got to watch the normal 2D version. Still pretty cool though.

DID YOU SEE THE PETRONAS TWIN TOWERS OMG! #proudmalaysian

I CAN'T BELIEVE I WAS ABOUT TO STAND ON 304M AT THIS POINT OF TIME!

Typical Malaysian being proud when you see your country name standing proudly in another country. They spelled Petronas wrongly though, and also, it should be Petronas Twin Towers. Oh well. Still proud.

Before we went up the observatory tower, we had to go through a bag check and trying to be civilised by still trying to queue up when it was basically a mess there thanks to those from 'Chn'. I think you know which country I'm talking about. Ain't adding that I and A inside. Oops. Just did.

As it was 5 minutes till 2pm, I quickly walked to the nearest staff and told her that Veyana and I have to do the Skywalk in 5 minutes and if we stay in the queue we'd be late. She immediately escorted us away from the queue and we both got to take the elevator up all by ourselves! Yay! I hope the Chn-se enjoyed 'queuing'.

I got really nervous the moment I got up the observatory tower. We were given a consent letter to sign that we're above 18, or else we need our parents to sign. We both just turned 17 in October and November so obviously we were illegal. But oops, we signed it ourselves. We both don't look 17 anyways. Then we had to do the alcohol level test.

Nervously waiting for our names to be called out.

CAN YOU SEE HOW HIGH UP THIS BUILDING IS?!

THIS IS NOT A PHOTOSHOPPED PICTURE ITS REAL!

The guide asked everyone where they were from, I was soooooo nervous that instead of saying that I'm from Malaysia, I said my name instead. Lmao! Then we were given that ugly blue jumpsuit to wear, and we locked our belongings away. After all the stairs climbing and safety check, it was time...

The view was amazing! Wow, I didn't feel anything at all! Except maybe when the guide told us all to jump at the extended platform. It can hold up to 3 elephants, she said. But they've never tested it since it's impossible to bring 3 elephants up the stairs.

I never buy pictures from tourist spots because it's expensive asf, but this was an exception because I needed it to be a prove that I've successfully completed this task and that I really don't fear heights anymore! I had the rest of the day feeling proud having to finally get rid of the fear that I have since young!

My advice is, if you really want to do something but you're afraid, do it spontaneously. Get that guts out for once, and then when you're done, you feel proud that you achieved such wonderful thing!
